Grameen America

Grameen America is a non-profit micro-finance agency, serving low income women in Greater Boston neighborhoods. Grameen American replicates the circle lending model pioneered by Nobel Peace Prize recipient Muhammad Yunus in the first Grameen Bank in Bangladesh. Grameen America has disbursed over $135 million in small loans since its founding in 2008. The Boston Impact Initiative provided an operating grant and loan to facilitate the opening of a Grameen branch office in Boston. Learn more
